OUR MISSION
To be disciples of Jesus Christ who make disciples of Jesus Christ.
OUR VISION
Hope Community Church will be a growing, vibrant, multi-cultural community of believers, meeting in cell (Life Groups) and celebration (Sunday morning worship) , for the purposes of reaching the lost with the Gospel, Discipling Believers, Training Leaders, Planting reproducing Great Commission Churches, and cooperating with others to complete the Great Commission here, there and everywhere.
OUR CORE VALUES
1. THE CENTRALITY OF CHRIST
The Church is the body of Christ and was created by Christ for His own purposes.
Our priority will be to build relationships with Christ and live in obedience to Him.
Our emphasis will be on knowing Jesus personally more than simply knowing facts about Him.
Each person who is a part of Hope Community Church will be challenged to spend time daily speaking to God and hearing from God. This will result in changes in character and growth in the Fruit of the Spirit.
2. MULTI-CULTURAL AND MULTI-ETHNIC MINISTRY
Hope Community Church will be a church for all people in the Douglas County area.
We will strive to maintain a multi-cultural and multi-ethnic congregation, mirroring the diversity of the community in which we reside.
We will be a force for, and a model of, race and ethnic relations in the West Georgia area in which we serve.
3. BUILDING COMMUNITIES OF HONEST RELATIONSHIPS MARKED BY SACRIFICIAL LOVE
People are more important than meetings at Hope Community Church
Each person who is a part of Hope Community Church will be encouraged to become a part of a Life Group to build these redemptive communities of faith.
The life of the church (maturation, ministry and mission) will occur in the context of these Life Groups.
Personal relationships and Biblical fellowship (koinonia) will be taught, nurtured and developed in these groups.
Conflict, when properly managed in these types of relationships, will be welcomed as an opportunity to grow and become mature, both individually and as a group.
We will work against the "Sunday mindset", where church is defined by Sunday Morning services.
The regular meeting of the corporate body for worship will be a celebration of worship and a time of teaching from Scripture, but will not be the prime focus of the church.
4. EVERY MEMBER MATURING IN CHRIST
Spiritual growth will be the norm and not the exception.
This will occur through
The nurture of Biblical community
Mentoring
A unified discipleship path for every believer.
5. EVERY MEMBER MINISTERING TO OTHERS
Each person who is a part of Hope Community Church will be encouraged and expected to discover and utilize their own spiritual gifts to build up the Body of Christ and to take responsibility for their part of the ministry in the Life Group and in the body at large.
In Life Groups, leaders will become facilitators, rather than just instructors, to enable each person to make their own unique contribution to the life of the group and the church.
6. EVERY MEMBER A MISSIONARY
Every believer is expected to "do the work of an evangelist" by being a witness to Christ in their own sphere of influence.
Outreach is a natural result of a dynamic relationship with Christ and His Church.
Each person will be encouraged to build redemptive relationships with others who are outside the church for the purpose of seeing them won to faith in Christ.
Opportunities will be provided for reaching out to the local community.
We will work and pray together to create "bridges" between Jesus Christ and our unsaved friends.
We have been blessed to be a blessing, which is our motivation for outreach. Obedience to Christ mandates it.
7. LEADERSHIP DEVELOPMENT
Hope Community Church will be a place of training for Christian leaders.
Opportunities will be provided for the training of leaders within the church, for the purpose of expanding our reach through church planting, and for service throughout the world as missionaries.
The training and development of leaders is an ongoing process, encouraging the ongoing growth and development of all, providing a well-equipped pool of Life Group and Ministry leaders, Church Planters, and Foreign Missionaries.
8. KINGDOM EXPANSION
In order to complete Christ’s Great Commission, Hope Community Church will be involved in Kingdom ministry that extends beyond our own spheres of influence.
This will be accomplished through
The planting of healthy reproducing daughter churches
Cross-cultural and overseas short-term missions opportunities
Supporting the work of the South Atlantic District
Supporting the world-wide work of the Christian and Missionary Alliance.
